Venkat Maroju

Dr. Venkat Maroju

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Venkat Maroju is Chief Executive Officer, SourceTrace Systems – a company that has become a global leader in providing software solutions to agriculture and allied sectors. The use of these technological solutions has made the agriculture value chain more sustainable, transparent and equitable – thus empowering hundreds of thousands of smallholder farmers in developing countries.

Venkat has been able to achieve this by combining his core capacities in technological leadership with extensive grassroots-level experience with social enterprises such as microfinance institutions, farmers’ cooperatives, sustainable agriculture, rural supply chain and renewable energy.

Prior to joining SourceTrace, Venkat had founded Factum Ventures, a holding company in India that set up and promoted new business ventures in sustainable agriculture, microfinance and renewable energy. He was also advisor to venture capital firms investing in social enterprises that supported people at the bottom of the pyramid in developing economies.

His earlier experience with technology leadership includes well known global corporations like Bose, where, as Divisional Information Officer, he led the information systems strategy and implementation. He also held a leadership position at ComauPICO (A subsidiary of Fiat).

Venkat holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and was a Sloan Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Engineering from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Virginia and Masters in Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. His Bachelor’s degree is in Engineering, from Osmania University College of Engineering, Hyderabad. Back to top

Tadeo Cwierz

Tadeo Cwierz

Vice President, Latin America & Technology Strategy

Tadeo Cwierz leads SourceTrace’s business strategy, sales and solution delivery in Latin America, which includes Central and South American countries. He also has the additional role of setting the overall technology strategy including solution and application architecture, and evaluation of new technologies.

Tadeo comes with more than 13 years of experience in technology and business leadership. He has extensive experience in design and deployment of mobile applications solutions for financial inclusion, agriculture, manufacturing and distribution & logistics in remote locations in Central and South America, Mexico and Spain, having led software projects right from concept to delivery and support.

Since joining SourceTrace, Tadeo is based out of Costa Rica and has held various leadership roles including business development, solution delivery and support of mobile applications for the microfinance and agriculture value chain. In this role Tadeo has worked with several farmer cooperatives, commodity firms, microfinance institutions and government agencies.

Tadeo began his career as Information Technology and Information Security advisor for KPMG Argentina and KPMG Costa Rica.

Tadeo has a Master’s degree in “Internet Marketing and New Economies” from Universidad de Belgrano, Buenos Aires, Argentina and Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems from UTN-FRBA, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Back to top

Ravisankar

Ravisankar Kanakasabapathy

Vice President, Software Development

Ravisankar leads the overall technology and development at SourceTrace Systems. He is responsible for solution design, development, delivery and support to customers worldwide. Ravisankar comes with more than 20 years of work experience in India, Australia and New Zealand on various aspects of enterprise software application design, development, deployment and documentation. He brings rich experience of customer engagement and program management in enterprise software delivery, which enriches SourceTrace’s engagement with global customers.

Prior to joining SourceTrace, Ravisankar was Program Manager (Delivery) at ERP Logic India Pvt Ltd. In this role, he managed and delivered several projects in SAP Business ByDesign Cloud ERP software. Earlier, he was Project Manager at Sierra ODC where he was in charge of development of several custom software applications for manufacturing, supply chain management and logistics for large global customers such as Japan Tobacco International and ER Mekatron Malaysia.

Joseph Selvin Lloyd

Joseph Selvin Lloyd

Vice President, Agri Solutions

Lloyd leads the business development efforts for the Agriculture vertical at SourceTrace.

Lloyd comes with more than 20 years of experience in the field of sustainable agriculture and textiles. Prior to joining SourceTrace, he was supply chain coordinator for the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) in India. In this role, he was responsible for linking various stakeholders of the textile supply chain right from to fashion and to implement traceability systems.

Earlier in his career, Lloyd was with Super Spinning Mills Ltd., where he was responsible for organic cotton production in the states of Tamilnadu and Orissa. He also handled different certification processes and compliances like GOTS, Organic Exchange, NOP NPOP, SA8000, ETI, WRAP etc.

As Head of the Agri Division, he worked with more than 10,000 farmers and managed Key Performance Indicator (KPI) analysis and adopted the model of Farmer Filed School & Front Line Demonstration methods to disseminate sustainable farming practices.

Prior to Super Spinning, Lloyd worked for Kasturi Estates Private Limited, a part of “The Hindu” group, India’s largest Newspaper selling group, where he was in charge of the organic farming program of the company. Early on, at Environmental Society, Lloyd was part of the team which developed organic practices for rice cultivation which had a major impact on the input cost reduction.

Lloyd has Bachelors Science in Forestry from Tamilnadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore and another Bachelors of Science degree in Botany from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai. Back to top

Neelaiah Jyothi

Neelaiah Jyothi

Vice President, Business Development

Neelaiah Jyothi leads Business Development and he is based out of Hyderabad, India. Neelaiah brings more than 25 years of experience in Rural Development, Microfinance, Farmer Cooperatives, NGO and International Aid Agencies.  Prior to Source Trace, Neelaiah was CEO of Ankuram Sangamam Poram (ASP) for more than 13 years.  ASP is a federated Mutually Aided Cooperative Society (MACS) with more than 100,000 members and provides thrift and credit services to its members and the micro enterprises.  In this capacity, Neelaiah, while managing the overall operations of ASP, he had to work with Government and non-Govt agencies and national and international financial institutions and aid agencies.  While in ASP he piloted a project in collaboration with Vodafone and Government of India – Sanchar Shakti Mobile VAS scheme for providing information and training to rural women using mobile phones.

With the experience that he gained, he promoted an organization called Aashray, which works for the rights and entitlements of the poor and marginalized communities, sustainable agriculture development and land development. Neelaiah was also involved in forming Farmer Producers Organizations in four districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.

Neelaiah has a master’s degree in Public Administration from Osmania University, Hyderabad and holds a certificate in Micro-finance from Naropa University, Boulder, USA. Back to top

A. K. M. Reshad Alam

A. K. M. Reshad Alam

Vice President, Bangladesh & Global Aquaculture

Reshad leads the business strategy, sales and solution delivery vertical in Bangladesh, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in the development sector, focusing on agricultural livelihood, food security, farmer’s institution development and entrepreneurship development.

Prior to joining SourceTrace, Reshad was a project manager at SEAF Bangladesh Agri Ventures Ltd. In this role, he managed the agro-SMEs’ promotion and capacity building through investment and technical assistance in the area of agricultural mechanization. This project was funded by USDA.

Earlier in his career, Reshad worked with CARE-Bangladesh, where he managed several development projects funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), European Union and DFID. He has worked extensively with agricultural farming communities, fisheries and aquaculture industries, farmer organizations, small & micro entrepreneurs and government agencies.

Some of the notable projects Reshad handled include GOLDA Projects and FAO funded projects in various countries like Nepal, India, Vietnam, Thailand and Norway. Reshad also participated in various programmes conducted by John Hopkins University, British Council, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT).

Reshad has a Master’s degree in Aquaculture & Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Fisheries (Hon.) from Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh. Back to top

Surajit Sinha

Surajit Sinha

Vice President, Marketing

Surajit is responsible for the overall marketing activities which include brand building, marketing communication, digital marketing (including SEO & online and social media marketing) and public relations.

He has more than 12 years of diverse experience in marketing and client relationship management. He has worked in SaaS based enterprise mobility solution, agriculture seeds industry, e-commerce (B2B), financial inclusion and media & advertising sector.

Prior to joining SourceTrace, Surajit was responsible for Business Development and Marketing at SolletSoft. In this role he managed the promotion of mobile application (IM) for enterprise communication and its usage in the agriculture, healthcare and retail industries.

Earlier in his career, he worked for RKSWAMY BBDO, Basix, Radio City, ETV Network and Ankur Seeds. He formulated digital concept involving the 360 marketing approach integrating it with Facebook. At ETV network he was involved in the marketing of Annadata, an agriculture-based rural development programme across 9 ETV Channels. During his tenure at Ankur Seeds, he managed large scale extension services with farmers in Hybrid Crops and vegetables in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Surajit has an MBA (Marketing) degree from Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Co-operative Management, Pune and a B.sc. in Agriculture from Tamilnadu Agriculture University, Coimbatore. Back to top

Kavitha Martin

Kavitha Martin

Vice President, HR, Finance & General Administration

Kavitha Martin leads the HR, finance and general administration functions.

Kavitha has more than 9 years of experience in HR, recruitment, payroll & benefits, accounting, financial reporting and corporate affairs for technology companies. She joined SourceTrace in the year 2008 and has been instrumental in setting up HR and recruitment processes. She also developed and implemented the accounting and financial reporting system.

Prior to joining SourceTrace, Kavitha had started her own company called Maxis Solutions, providing recruitment services for technology companies. Earlier, Kavitha was a senior recruiter at Srihari Techsoft where she worked with Merit Track Services Pvt. Ltd. and Nutech Systems as its Tamil Nadu regional coordinator. She started her career as a call center executive with Net Vision Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and worked in Business Transcription services.

Kavitha has MBA degree from Bharthiayar School of Management and Entrepreneurial Development, Coimbatore and Bachelors in Commerce from Avinashilingam University, Coimbatore. Back to top
